Self-Hypnosis

What is self-hypnosis and what is it good for?

Actually, there's quite a lot of controversy over what self-hypnosis is, though most hypnotherapists agree on its power. The simplest version of self-hypnosis is not much different from meditation. But its power comes when it's used more like a guided visualisation.

The power in self-hypnosis comes when you use it for a particular purpose. Some people use it just to relax, and that's absolutely fine. Other people, however, use a clear structure to formulate and plan their lives, and decide how to go about changing things.

Depending on the skill and level that you're prepared to take it, you can choose what you'll use self-hypnosis for. If you're the easily-stressed kind of person, simple relaxation would be perfect. If you're the ambitious sort of person and have hit a plateau that you can't seem to be able to get off, then planning and using it would be the best thing.

There are many books on self-hypnosis. Here is one that was written specifically to make self-hypnosis easy and powerful (or the UK version), but you may prefer something different.

Alternatively, you can find a local hypnotherapist who teaches self-hypnosis and learn that way.

If self-hypnosis is something you wish to explore further, and you want an Oxfordshire hypnotherapist contact me for more information.
