Fear of Public Speaking

I have often come across the statistic that the fear of public speaking ranks higher than the fear of death itself! In other words, more people are afraid to speak in public than they are of any other single thing, even death itself.

If you are one of those people, you are hardly alone. I don't know how it manifests for you: Shaking hands, quivering voice, stuttering, sweating, wanting to run away, freezing, forgetting your words, confusion… maybe all of those. But however it is for you, it's really unpleasant.

It is especially galling if you're expected to speak as part of your normal duties, but you just can't bring yourself to do it. What opportunities have you missed out because of it!

Even if it's not a fully-fledged fear for you, but just a general nervousness and discomfort, it can certainly make it unpleasant for you and less than the best for your audience.

If you can position yourself as one of the few who can step up with confidence and poise and just talk to a large number of people, as a calm and relaxed speaker, you will have a valuable skill that not many people possess.

Impossible, you might think?

Then be surprised, because many thousands of people have harnessed the power of modern hypnotherapy, NLP or CBT to turn this around — sometimes in just a single session — to find a new skill and confidence that they never dreamt they could get.

When your unconcious mind has decided that public speaking is a deadly threat, then no amount of logic or pleading is going to change it. If the fear is not logical, then the solution cannot be logical.

Instead, it requires something that goes straight to the heart of the problem — something that will persuade your unconscious that the fear of public speaking is no longer necessary and it can let it go.

That's why hypnotherapy and NLP work so well, because they address not the logical part of you, but instead the emotional, scared unconscious part of you that's keeping you away from what you really want and need to do.
